Team impressions printers

Today 10 of us were lucky enough to visit 'Team Impression' design lead printing service in Beeston, The owner Peter gave us a tour of the premises and the process from client to printed and packaged.
We started in the reprographics department where the designs are sent in from the client and then prepared for printing. I didn't realise that they actually prefer a PDF format, as well as the raw files, as it generally makes the process quicker and easier.
It was really useful for me to go down in to the print rooms and see the plates for lino print as when we were doing the print module this was the process that i didn't quite understand the process, but seeing the plates with the coating on it was easier to see the process of how the ink and paints stick to different parts of the plate depending on the coating.
Paul managed to take some pretty good photography so heres just a few of them, never though i would get excited about printers and paper and ink.
This is one of the Litho printers that they have which had up to 7 colour print.

This is the digital room where there is about 3 printers and this is where you can personalise each page on one run.

At Team they do the whole process in house, or as much as they can, all printing, folding, finishes, glueing, binding and any extra factors. They specialise in jobs that are a little less ordinary, the offer things that most other printers don't.

now this took me a while to figure out what this was saying but when i finally got it, I couldn't help smile a bit.
